About this Exploration: The big mystery is what happened to the tower on the northeast corner? Nobody seems to know, but sometime between 1889 and 1910 the top of it disappeared from this impressive brick and stone structure. Despite the loss the building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places for the authenticity of its Romanesque architecture. Go up the steps and inside to see the magnificent woodwork that has recently been hand-stripped and refinished. The courtroom plus the entire building is still in full use today. The people who work in the building are really friendly. Open Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Front Staircase
