About this Exploration:

Meade County Museum
Operated by the Meade County Historical Society, this museum offers a look into the past of Meade County’s citizens, from those in pre-historic times to those of the Native American and the early European-American pioneers.
Arranged in such a way as to depict the lifestyle of early settlers, the museum offers an entertaining as well as educational look at the past. The museum boardwalk includes replicas of a sod house, general store, blacksmith shop, barber shop, railroad depot, as well as rooms that might have been in the early-day home such as the kitchen, parlor and bedroom. The livery stable houses early-day transportation, and a walk down the west side of the museum offers a glimpse into an early-day bank, doctor's office, school room, photographers studio, and church.
The museum's outdoor display which is 1 block east and 1/2 block south, includes the Sunnydale one-room school house, a windmill and early farm equipment.
Open Tuesday-Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday 1-5 p.m.  Free admission.
