The beautiful South Solomon River flows west to east behind Morland. The North and South Solomon Rivers are part of the Waconda Watershed. The South Solomon River flows into Webster Lake, with the North Solomon River eventually flowing into Kirwin Lake.

Wild turkey, whitetail and mule deer can commonly be seen during the early morning and evening hours within city limits.
