About this Exploration:
El Quartelejo Museum is a unique pueblo style museum located on the west side of Scott City.
Displays are arranged to lead visitors through the history of Scott County from the fossil remains of the inland sea through modern day agriculture. Included in the exhibits are a replica of the El Cuartelejo pueblo ruins, rocks, fossils, antique items, and exhibits that often feature local artists. Another building houses vintage tractors, buggies, miscellaneous household and farming artifacts.
The museum is free and is open Monday-Friday 1-5 p.m. Memorial Day-Labor Day, Saturday 1-5 p.m. After hour tours may be arranged if staff is available. Call 620.874.1559 or 620.872.3523.
