About this Exploration:

Kansas bridge #33 is located 5.12 miles south of Seneca on Highway 63 over former Lake Nemaha on the south fork of the Nemaha River.  Lake Nemaha was built in 1934 as a federal project in flood control in a fertile agricultural district.  The native limestone pillars--a project of the Civilian Conservation Corps--remain, lining both sides of Highway 63 and are listed on the State Historical Register.
