About this Exploration:

The Museum is housed in an 1887 Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad Depot. The depot is a classic example of a standardized rural/small town combination station.  Originally the station was located on the west side of Kansas Highway 7 near Holiday Inn Express and Lansing Lumber.  In 1989, the building was in danger of being demolished.  Concerned citizens formed the Lansing Historical Society to save one of the few remaining original Lansing buildings.  The depot was moved to a new home on the Lansing Correctional Facility’s grounds.  Volunteers and inmates renovated the building to become the Lansing Historical Museum.

Museum admission is free.  Business hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday 1-4 p.m.
