Built in 1944 with railroad ties, this once was home for a family of ten. The floors were dirt for the first year or so and the windows were cut out before the floor. No allowance was made for the wood floor added later. Water was carried in by buckets from the outside well and meals were cooked on a wood cook stove until the late 1960s. This cabin was donated to the Longton Historical Society by the Fouch family in 1994. Find This Exploration! Get Directions |
