About this Exploration: This wooden train was assembled with volunteer time and sits on the site of what was once the Leavenworth, Kansas and Western Railway (L. K. & W.) The L. K. & W. was instrumental in the founding of our community. Some nicknames of the L. K. & W. were: "Little Kansas Wiggler" and "Look, Kuss & Wait". The railway was well known for it's winding track and for it's tardiness in arriving at the depot on time, leading to just two of the other versions of "L. K. & W.".
