Stone Arch BridgesAddress:
West Ridge Road
About this Exploration: These historic bridges could be termed the "Bridges of Phillips County." Built in 1936 as a WPA project, these stone arch bridges will highlight your visit to our city park. Phillipsburg city park is located on the west edge of Phillipsburg on U.S. Hwy 36. As you enter the park area, you will find these bridges on your right. As you cross the beautiful landmark on the north, you decide whether to visit one of two "privies" or to explore the stone path which leads you up the hill. You will be able to drive your vehicle across the bridge on the south and either stop at the Fort Bissell saddle club or drive on up to the Phillipsburg RV park. One has to wonder what they would say if these old stone bridges could talk!
